What is this? This thing is not quirky enough to be a Quickride material. I mean, you see these thing tooling around just about everywhere. But when is the last time you see this car, in a clean shape like this?
I found this car when i was sitting on my bed, at the middle of the night, doing things that most of us do at night: browsing classified ad for used car. Then i saw this thing, which is soooooo clean that i have to check it out.
You see, my father used to have one of these. It was red, although with steelies. These rims is not what the car comes with to be honest, it's a very rare Mugen NR-10 one piece rim made out of forged alumunium. For more lightness and better time at trackday bro!
But the thing is, sometimes there's some people that could maintain a car so well that in the end of the day it looks better than when it comes out from the assembly line. And this car is one of them. Look at those mugen spoiler and dual exhaust for instance, it made the rear looks a bit like a Lancia Delta with bodykits.
And step inside for more awesomenes s.
Here's the problem with this car, the inside looks so good that it's like Honda decide to produce this car again. Or this car just traveled from 1987 to 2014 with some hidden flux capacitor somewhere. I don't even dare to drive it as a daily driver.
Seriously, this is masterpiece.
My only complaint, and it's only slight complaint, is the engine. It's not very clean like any other parts of the car, but i guess that's just shows that this Civic is still a Civic. It's not a perfect car. Nobody's prefect, you know.
Yes it's still drives like a Civic, runs like a Civic, and the badge still says Civic written on it. But dear oh dear i love this car. It's just so clean. It's Wonderful.
Now I wonder if i could see a modern Civic this clean in the next 30 years. Just wondering if there's anyone out there to save the Civic. And Honda, can I have a Civic Hatchback again, please?

I sadly doubt the Civics of today will be as fondly preserved as these ones were, and that's all Honda's fault. From the founding of the company up until they upsized the engine in the S2000 in North America and Europe and production ended on the last JDM (read, real we made a race car and then made it road legal, our chassis has foam in it and everything) Civic Type R in 2010, Honda was a company that built cars the way the founder would have wanted. They made cars the way Soichiro Honda did, with emphasis on absolute mechanical excellence. Hondas were Hondas. You wouldn't mistake them for anything else. Nowadays, Honda seems to be most interested in making Toyotas without Toyota's innate understanding of precisely how little of everything a car can have before someone would decide not to buy it, so they are mostly doing a really shit job of it.
Nobody will preserve today's Civics because there is nothing about them that makes you feel the pride the engineers felt when they designed it.

In high school my friend got her grandmothers 88 civic hatchback. It was like new despite being 15ish years old. I don't remember the mileage but I think it was under 30k maybe even as low as 25k miles. I had never seen a car that old look so new.
